We’ve seen some ongoing confusion and unintended use of Trial licenses, due to the nuances of these licenses, has created operational and financial risk for the channel. To simplify the process and ensure a consistent experience for everyone, we’ll be removing procurement of Trial licenses from our website effective 1 November.

We understand this change may cause some short-term disruption, however if you would like to procure trials, please follow the below recommended pathway:

Step-by-Step: Activate a Microsoft Trial in Admin Center

1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 Admin Center

 - Go to https://admin.microsoft.com.
 - Use your Global Admin credentials to sign in.

2. Navigate to the Billing Section

 - In the left-hand menu, select Billing > Purchase services.
 - This opens the Microsoft 365 marketplace where you can browse available products.

3. Search for Trial Offers

 - Use the search bar to find the product you want to trial (e.g., Microsoft 365 Business Premium).
 - Look for listings marked as “Trial Available

 4. Start the Trial

 - Click on the product.
 - Select the trial offer from the "Select a Plan" drop down
 - Confirm your selection and proceed through the setup steps.

Most trials will require a payment method at sign-up and will automatically convert to a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you specifically select the trial renewal setting to cancel the subscription at the end of the trial period.

5. Assign Licenses

 - Once the trial is active, go to Users > Active users.
 - Select users and assign the trial licenses to them.

Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership as we work to streamline how we support you and your customers.
