Meet the Team: Jane Phan - Microsoft Surface Business Manager

Meet Jane Phan, our Microsoft Surface Business Manager. She leads a tight-knit team and is just about to reach the six-year mark at Dicker Data! Find out her one piece of career advice, and how she recently became obsessed with indoor rock climbing.  

Jane’s Dicker Data journey started in 2019, joining the Microsoft Surface team as a Product Manager, and quickly worked her way up the ranks to lead the entire portfolio.  

“I’m truly grateful for our amazing team! Each member brings unique expertise and a shared passion for delivering exceptional results for our partners and their customers. Karen Phung, our Product Manager, and Graco Ramirez, our dedicated Business Development Manager, lead the charge on all things Microsoft Surface. The collaboration across departments is outstanding, finance support is seamless, and our marketing ideas are brilliantly brought to life by our creative marketing team.”  

Jane has had to adapt to the ever-evolving IT landscape, with Dicker Data leading the way in providing the Australian community access to the latest devices.

It's that support and mentality that's been instilled from the top down, and it's one of Jane's favourite things about working here.

They empower us to take ownership, make decisions, and learn from our experiences. Her career advice is to prioritise being around the right people, and those who support, challenge, and inspire you. 

“I believe having a great manager and team is often more important than the role itself. When you're in an environment where people genuinely support one another, it creates the space to grow and achieve your best. Even with experience, there’s always room to learn. Being part of a company that values authenticity, offers flexibility, and empowers you to take ownership of your work makes all the difference.” 

When Jane's not in the office, there’s a good chance you’ll find her at her indoor rock-climbing gym. Her love for the sport began unexpectedly about 18 months ago, sparked by a desire to help her son overcome his fear of heights. 

"We wanted to ease him into being up high in a safe, controlled environment and climbing seemed like a fun way to do it. I’ve always believed that if you’re encouraging your kids to try something new, you should do it with them. So, we all gave it a go… and to our surprise, we absolutely loved it! Just like in life, stepping out of your comfort zone can be exactly what you need to discover what you're truly capable of. What started as a way to support my son has now become a regular sport that I genuinely enjoy for myself."
