How Microsoft is Rewarding CSP Partners In FY27.

Your monthly briefing on Microsoft programs, incentives, products, promotions and partner opportunities for our Indirect Resellers from the Dicker Data Microsoft team.

Welcome to the first edition of Microsoft Momentum, our new monthly round-up from the Dicker Data Microsoft team.

Each month, we’ll bring you the latest updates across Microsoft programs, incentives, products, promotions and partner opportunities, helping you stay informed, prepared and ready to support your customers through the next stage of cloud and AI transformation.

For our first edition, we’re taking a closer look at the newly released, FY27 Microsoft Commerce Incentives program and what it tells us about where Microsoft is placing its investment focus for the year ahead.

While there are several program and eligibility updates to be aware of, the bigger story is clear: Microsoft is increasing its focus on customer growth, AI adoption, AI-ready productivity, Security, Copilot, Microsoft 365 E7, Azure consumption and Business Applications-led transformation.

For Indirect Resellers, FY27 is less about simply transacting licences and more about helping customers modernise, adopt, secure and grow. That means building stronger Microsoft 365 foundations, preparing customers for Copilot, embedding security and governance from the start, and connecting licensing conversations to adoption, services and measurable business outcomes.

The Headlines for Indirect Resellers

Microsoft’s FY27 Indirect Reseller incentives point to a clear set of priorities:

  • Customer growth and expansion
  • Copilot, Agent 365 and Copilot Studio adoption
  • Microsoft 365 E7 as a strategic workload
  • Security, Compliance and AI readiness
  • Azure migration, modernisation, data and AI
  • Dynamics 365 and Business Applications growth
  • Accelerate activity-based investments
  • More emphasis on measurable adoption and usage

The opportunity for Indirect Resellers is not limited to one solution area. FY27 creates stronger pathways across Modern Work, Security, Azure, AI, Business Applications and managed services.

The standout change is the Growth Accelerator, increasing from 7.5% to 10%, with the maximum earning opportunity rising from $187,500 to $250,000. This reinforces Microsoft's focus on rewarding Indirect Resellers who drive growth, adoption and expansion across Microsoft cloud solutions—not just renewals.

Azure: Migration, Modernisation, Data and AI Remains a Core Focus

Microsoft’s FY27 investments place strong emphasis on Azure consumption growth, particularly across migration, modernisation, data, AI and developer workloads.

The practical message is simple: Azure growth is being rewarded when it supports strategic customer outcomes such as migration, modernisation, data platform uplift, AI development and security integration.

Business Applications:

Business Applications also plays role in the FY27 story.

Microsoft is placing increased focus on Dynamics 365, Business Central, Customer Insights, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Supply Chain, Contact Centre and other workloads that help customers modernise their business processes.

Change of Channel Partner (COCP)

Microsoft has introduced a new Change of Channel Partner (COCP) process for Indirect Resellers , providing a standardised way for customers to move their CSP relationship from one reseller to another. This is an important change for all to understand, particularly when onboarding customers transitioning from Enterprise Agreements or another CSP providers. Microsoft is expected to release additional guidance in the coming weeks, and we’ll continue to keep you informed as more details become available.
