Are you constantly going back and forth with Copilot to get the perfect response? Whether you're a marketing expert, presales specialist, general manager, work in finance, or sales, Copilot is relevant to almost every role. So, are you leveraging it to its full potential?
Our very own Andrew O’Young, Microsoft Modern Work Presales Specialist, has provided a step-by-step guide on how to leverage Copilot Agents to take your generated responses to new heights. Take the wheel, Andrew.
Hi LinkedIn family, welcome to this short tutorial on crafting efficient prompts in Copilot. Prompting has become a crucial skill that significantly improves the quality, accuracy and value of the generated output. The better your prompt is, the better the response will be. Microsoft 365 Copilot is introducing Agents, and while we wait for the full implementation there are a few pre-built ones by Microsoft that we can start using right away!
Navigate to the Copilot Chat page and select 'View Prompts' to access a greater Copilot Prompt Library which provides examples across different Apps as well.
Click on the Panel button to expand and click Get agents
Seach for ‘Coach’. This will display results with Coach in the name, and we’re focusing on the Prompt Coach. Click on Add to install this Agent in your M365 Copilot Chat experience. I would recommend coming back later to install and experiment with the other Agents published by Microsoft Corporation.
Click Open in Copilot or return to M365 Copilot Chat and select Prompt Coach from the side panel. This is a valuable, fine-tuned Copilot Agent designed to help you create an effective Prompt to use in any of your other Copilots!
Ask it to help generate a prompt to be used in Copilot.
Provide the information back to the Agent. As you can see, you’ll need to supply the information to address all four main components of a good prompt: Goal, Content, Source, and Expectations.
Copy and paste the final prompt into Copilot or wherever you need to use it. And just like that, you’ve got a prompt to use based on the conversation with the Prompt Coach. This ultimately saves me from going back and forth with Copilot in Word, experimenting with a prompt from scratch.
My example here is comparatively simple, but as the requirements change and complexity increases leveraging these Agents are a game changer. I highly recommend everyone to give this a go and experience the remarkable difference in your Copilot-generated responses!
