Microsoft co-operative funds are funds available to partners to use on Demand Generation, Market Readiness, and Partner Readiness.
Partners earn co-op in one half and then have the following half to execute it. Once the activities are executed partners can claim the co-op via their Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) Partner Dashboard by submitting a claim and providing Proof of Execution (POE).
Additional Resources are available here.
There are a variety of programs that offer Microsoft Co-op including the legacy CSP program and recently, NCE.
In the Legacy CSP Reseller program, Microsoft pays out incentives, over a threshold amount ($10,000 USD) as 60% rebate and 40% co-op funds.
Once earnt in a half, a partner can then claim back these funds with Proof of Execution documents in the Partner Center.
Additional Resources are available here.
Partners who meet the criteria can view their potential co-op on their MPN dashboard. You may need to check if you have Incentives Admin rights.
On the portal you can view Incentives > Programs > Indirect CSP Reseller or New Commerce
On this page, you should amend the date range to the previous half.
You can also confirm your earnings by going into Co-op management and submitting a claim, as your total available co-op will be shown once that first claim is submitted.
Additional Resources are available here.
Microsoft co-operative funds are funds available to partners to use on Demand Generation, Market Readiness, and Partner Readiness activities.
A comprehensive guide can be downloaded directly from your MPN partner dashboard at Incentives > Programs > Indirect CSP Reseller page.
You can also access the guide here, however, please note that this document is updated each financial year.
Co-op funds are earned in one half and then claimed once the activity has been completed in the following half. Once you have completed the activity in the required time-period you can go into your MPN dashboard > Co-op Management > then select “create a claim”.
You can find guides and OnDemand webinars that walk through the claiming process, here. Alternatively, if you are a Dicker Data partner reach out to our GTM team who can organise a free consultation and co-op session.
Co-op funds are earned in one half and can be used in the following half. Once the activity has been executed in the correct time-period, you have 45 days to submit a claim to Microsoft for those funds.
For example: If a partner earns $5,000 USD in co-op between 1st January - 30th June, then that partner can execute an activity anytime from 1st July - 31st December. Providing the partner has the required Proof of Execute with dates that demonstrate the activity happened within the correct time-period then that partner can submit a claim to Microsoft to claim those funds back.
Note: a claim can be submitted 45 days after the activity, therefore claiming in this example is open till 15th February.
If you wanted to make a claim ASAP then the first date you can make a claim in a new time-period is, one day after claiming closes for the previous half, so in this example claiming would open 16th August.
Additional Resources, including claiming documentation are available here. In that link, you’ll also find the newly released Microsoft Co-Op best practices library. The library offers insights into planning for co-op, usage, and claims.
