Boasting over 20 years’ experience working within the Cisco portfolio, and countless of black belt academy certifications, Kelvin Tse’s resume speaks for itself. He joined our Dicker Data team as a National Solutions Architect for Cisco nearly nine years ago, but his first ever job was in banking.
After completing an undergraduate Honours degree in Business Administration in London, he returned to Malaysia to work in the banking industry. After 4 years, Kelvin did a Diploma in Computer Studies and stepped into the world of Information Technology (IT). He worked for a Singapore IT organisation that is based in Malaysia but constantly travelled between the two countries due to work.
"The time I spent in business was very beneficial. It laid a good foundation for me to experience a wide range of industries covering everything from international marketing to business policies, and more. After working in the banking industry for a while, I knew my passion was always IT. Hence, I went back to studying, completing a postgraduate Master's in Applied Information Technology degree at Monash University in Melbourne and never looked back.”
Kelvin thrives on tackling challenges and assembling solutions, much like putting together the pieces of a complex puzzle.
"In my role as a technical pre-sales solutions architect, I collaborate closely with our partners and resellers, providing them with the technical expertise they need. I conduct training sessions to keep our partners updated on the latest Cisco products, software, and services. I also assist them in navigating Cisco's complex systems to secure the best deals, discounts, and promotions. Essentially, my job is to streamline their processes and ensure they are well-equipped to deliver exceptional service to their customers.”

“My passion is in collaboration and helping customers with building configurations and estimates in Cisco. Often, I work with end customers to clarify their requirements and ensure the solutions meet their needs.”

When he's not at work, Kelvin is busy chauffeuring his two children around (his words, not ours). In his rare moments of downtime, you'll find him gaming on his meticulously built PC. Don't worry, he's not planning on jumping ship to our hardware team anytime soon!
