Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android are changing the way they authenticate to improve security, boost performance and integrate closer with Intune.
This change will affect all Manufactures and all Android devices. If you aren't prepared your devices will stop working. Most Manufactures, including HP Poly have started this transition. Devices currently authenticating with Google Mobile Services [GMS] [Microsoft Company Portal] started transitioning back in May 2025 to Android Open Source Project [AOSP] [Microsoft Intune] authentication to sign into resource accounts and pair touch controllers to android bars.
If you do not make below changes to your products and Microsoft Intune platform your devices will sign out from their resource account.
Following guidance published by Microsoft you must execute the following:
1. Sign into Microsoft Intune, navigate to Devices > Enrollment > Android > AOSP > Corporate-Owned, User-Associated Devices > Create a Policy
2. Sign into the Pilot HP Poly Studio Device via it's IP address using the web interface. Navigate to General Settings > Provider and select 'Microsoft Teams' then check the box 'Enable AOSP Authentication and save changes.
3. Once the system has updated and restarted the TC10 should also update and restart.
4.Validate the Device is now using the AOSP OS. Sign into Microsoft Intune, navigate to Devices > Android>Android Devices. Search for the Device and confirm the OS.
5.After confirming the Pilot system updated successfully, Migrate the remaining fleet using HP Poly Lens
Manage>Inventory>*Device*>Settings>General Settings>Provider>Microsoft Teams>EnableAOSP
5.a. Alternatively using a Policy inside HP Poly Lens Manage>Policies>Device Group>Android Video Platform Family>Settings>General Settings>Provider>Microsoft Teams> EnableAOSP
Note: All HP Poly Android Devices must be on Poly OS 4.5 minimum for AOSP to be available. Poly OS 4.6 will automatically push the AOSP Enabled Setting to every device.
Sean caught up with Paul Keramida from HP Poly to run through a step-by-step guide on how to upgrade to AOSP.
